IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol stated that COP31, to be hosted by Türkiye in Antalya, will focus on the '35 by 35' approach aimed at raising electricity's share of total energy consumption from 23 per cent to 35 per cent.
According to Anadolu Agency, Birol stated that they want the summit to be remembered for a concrete and lasting goal, emphasising that an electrification pledge that numerous countries could sign would send a strong signal to global markets.
